Expo 2020 Dubai presents a unique opportunity for New Zealand businesses, particularly our food and beverage exporters. The New Zealand pavilion’s restaurant will be the ideal place to bring people together to enjoy New Zealand style cuisine.
The New Zealand at Expo 2020 team is working with Emirates Flight Catering to create a menu that will reflect New Zealand’s national identity, showcase our cuisine to a global audience while also building on our reputation as a safe and sustainable producer of food and beverage.
Guests to the New Zealand pavilion restaurant will experience New Zealand’s warm hospitality, known as manaakitanga, with young New Zealanders staffing the restaurant and kitchen. Five apprentice chefs from New Zealand are being appointed by Emirates Flight Catering to work in the restaurant during Expo 2020 Dubai.
Since coming on board as New Zealand’s hospitality partner for Expo 2020 Dubai, there’s been a 300% increase in annual spend by Emirates Flight Catering on New Zealand produce for its airline business class and catering operations.
The New Zealand pavilion restaurant will be open for bookings later in the year.
New Zealand food and beverage exporters interested in participating in Expo 2020 Dubai should consider participating in NZTE’s Discover Middle East programme.
