Parris Goebel

Entertainment and Cultural Programme Curator

Parris Goebel is a New Zealand-born creative whose talents span choreography, dance, music, directing and acting. She is a five-time World Hip Hop dance champion and is the founder and lead choreographer of The Palace Dance Studio. The studio is home to several notable dance groups including The Royal Family, ReQuest, Bubblegum and Sorority.

She is a world-renowned creative force and has worked with the likes of Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Janet Jackson and Nicki Minaj. She has so many career defining moments it’s hard to list them all, but they include the choregraphing the music video Sorry for Justin Bieber, which remains on Youtube’s top 20 most viewed videos of all time; racking up just over 3.4 billion views, creating Jennifer Lopez’s half time Super Bowl performance in 2020 and working with Rihanna on her Savage X Fenty Show promoting her lingerie line, which was featured in a documentary regarding the making of the show on Amazon Prime.

Parris is the creative director of the entertainment and cultural programme for New Zealand at Expo 2020 and was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to dance last year.
