New Zealand at Expo 2020 has appointed Cimolai Rimond Middle East (CRME) as its main contractor to build the New Zealand Pavilion for Expo 2020 Dubai.
The 2,000 square metre New Zealand Pavilion features a visitor experience, restaurant and VIP hosting facilities all designed by Jasmax architects.
Following a site-blessing in line with Māori custom, ground was broken on the New Zealand Pavilion site in May.

Construction of the pavilion is progressing at pace. The shell and core should be completed by the end of 2019.
“CRME impressed us with its commitment to health, safety and worker welfare and their willingness to work with us to reflect our theme Care for People and Place”, says Clayton Kimpton, New Zealand’s Commissioner-General to Expo 2020.
In addition to the New Zealand Pavilion, CRME is also responsible for the build of Al Wasl Plaza – Expo 2020’s central dome.
Expo 2020 will bring together 192 countries for a World Expo that’s expected to attract 25 million visits over six months. Each country participating in Expo 2020 will showcase its brand through a national pavilion.
Expo 2020 will run from October 2020 to April 2021.
